Versatile large volume robot gantry system

The Osprey is a servo motor driven gantry system developed for a wide variety of workshop applications that need low cost machines without sacrificing reliability, job throughput or finished part quality.

The Osprey gantry system is delivered to you in 3 sections that quickly and easily bolt together to form an H-frame. This can be bolted down onto any flat surface to form a rigid, high quality table top machine.

A base frame can be provided as an option. Various tool head options are available to suit your needs, alternatively you can use the mounting adapter plate to mount your own tool or torch.

To suit a wide variety of applications the machine is available in a range of table sizes, from 2 x 2 feet to 20 x 20 feet. The gantry system can be supplied complete with a shop proven, state of the art CNC controller, servo motors and drives, wiring harness and our own Job Layout Software. JLS is a CAM package that converts DXF files from any CAD package, into machine codes, allows you to manually or graphically edit the job program sequence and then send it to the AMC 4 machine controller . Shipping JLS with our AMC machine controller assures ease of use and total reliability in managing the transfer of data files from your CAD system to the machine.

Osprey machines are shipped in modules that can be easily assembled by your staff, or ours if you prefer. The machine is pre-assembled at the factory, fitted with all motors, datum switches, interfaced together with the wiring harnesses. The harness extends to the AMC motion controller which houses all of the motion control elements of the gantry system, the drive amplifiers and power supplies necessary to drive the machine.

All parts of the osprey gantry system are configured and tested as a system before shipment ensuring that the system will work first time, when you receive it.

After testing, the Osprey gantry system is broken down into kit form and packed into 4 cases, the mechanical system is provided in three sections, with the control unit in the fourth case. When you receive the system simply take the sections from the cases, bolt the mechanical sections together using the 16 bolts provided, connect up the wiring by plugging together the mating connectors and connect the wiring harness to the back panel of the controller. On site assembly can be completed in a few hours, with no experience required.

Quality Components

The Osprey gantry system has been designed to provide you with a cost effective, easy to install and use, multi-purpose system. By providing the machine in simple assembly kit form we have created a good general purpose production machine that can be converted for use in a wide variety of applications including routing, engraving, pick and place, plasma, laser and water jet cutting.

Each major item of the machine has been selected on its merits. High precision linear bearings and Thomson rails have been selected as they are the standard of the industry providing you with peace of mind and many years of use. By using high quality industry standard components there will be no problems in replacing items in the future if items do eventually fail.

We have used Axor motor and drive amplifier products for many years in many thousands of control packages, both in the US and Europe and we continue to use them on grounds of both price and reliability.

All of the controllers in the AMC range will provide you with the smoothness of motion that is essential for excellent finished part quality and ensuring long machine life.

The AMC motion controller supports a number of standard file formats, allowing job programs to be taken directly from your CAD/CAM system or job nesting software. The AMC provides you with many of the features demanded in today's production environments. In addition where the Osprey is to be used for Plasma or Laser cutting applications a full range of features including Kerf tool offsets, part scaling, path backup and retrace and shapes library are included.

If you don't have a CAD package, we're able to provide (TurboCad) a cost effective, easy to use system. Where a touch screen or PC control is preferred NEE have the perfect answer with our panel software, WinAMC ®
